Sanyuanli is a popular destination for budget Canton Fair visitors, mainly because there are large number of low price hotels, and most of area are within walking distance to metro station. It would take about 35 minutes metro to Pazhou.

Areas around Sanyuanli are well known for their wholesale markets for garments, shoes, leather bags and belts, watches, low price cosmetics, etc., in Guangzhou Railway Station area and Guihuagang. Therefore, many businessmen, especially from Africa or the Middle East would like to stay in this area for business.

Hotel room rates in Sanyuanli mainly range from US$ 30--US$100 during Canton Fair. Budge hotels whose room rates below US$60 would also provide standard facilities like Internet access, lift, etc. Some of them have experience in receiving foreign guests; yet, the receptionists can speak very limited English. Since it’s convenient to take the metro in Sanyuanli, most of the hotels would not provide shuttle bus to Pazhou.

During Canton Fair, hotels in this area would be fully booked, so you’d better to reserve the room in advance (at least one week ahead).

Here you will be able to enjoy various Chinese nightlife with low budge, such as foot massage, spa, KTV, bridge, Mahjong, etc. Restaurants (mainly Chinese style) are easily found around. You can also find various Muslim restaurants in Tongxinnan, another area 5 minutes taxi away, which is the gathering place for Muslims.

In addition, it is within 10 minutes taxi from Guangzhou Railway Station, (NOT Guangzhou East Railway Station, where starts the thorough train to Hong Kong) and Provincial Coach Station, where you can take coach to other parts in Guangdong province. If you would like to visit the factories scattered in Pearl River Delta, it would be convenient for you to take such coach.
