Besides, from 104th Canton Fair (Autumn Fair, 2008) onwards, Canton Fair would be split into 3 phrases, instead of 2 phrases previously. So, the foreign buyers would be dispersed among 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks. It means at the same time, there is less demand for hotel in particular period, thus, it is more likely for you to find bargain in last minute, esp. if you are coming to attend the fair in the later part, the second or third phrase. So, you can find low priced hotels in good location in last minute.

So, maybe you can either book a hotel in remote location first, so make sure you have a place to stay when you arrive and then see if you can find bargain afterwards.

Or maybe you can just call some hotel and ask if they have rooms in advance, if many hotels (esp. those in remote location) tell you there is room available. Then you can keep their number and address, and see if you can find bargain after your arrival. Just check with the hotel which you first contact and see if there is room, in case you cannot find bargain when you just arrive.
