If you would like to find budget hotels starting from US$10 per night, which are not far from Pazhou, the towns along Guangzhou No.4 metro line would worth considering.

Shiqi is one of the metro stations on Guangzhou No.4 metro line,6 stops south from Pazhou (about 20 minutes). There are two towns site at the east and west of Shiqi station, named Shilou and Shiqi, which are respectively 3km and 5km from the metro station.

Different from the metro lines in other cities, Guangzhou No.4 metro line just covers the rural area in the suburb, yet avoids to go through the villages along, and the stations are built kilometers away from the towns. Thus, the only transport commuting between the hotels and metro would be public bus or motorcycle. Here in Shilou and Shiqi, public bus would be the first choice, which takes about 10 minutes to the town center. Motorbike is also available.

Shiqi is an industrial town with many garment manufacturers. Daily life here is convenient enough, supermarkets, various kinds of restaurants are available. Entertainments are mainly those night clubs, KTVs, sauna and foot massage centers, where you will be able to see the beautiful young massage girls.

Shilou is also an old industrial town in furniture, with few greenery. The air is polluted by the factories and busy traffics.

In Shiqi, you would feel surprised to see those hotels in 5 floors, but with just 40 rooms, because they have spared half of the space for massage parlor. If you read Chinese, you would find the recruitment advertisement every where, recruiting beautiful massager girls, aged below 25, with attractive salary.

Hotels in Shiqi and Shilou mainly range from US$10 to US$30, and they would not increase the room rates during Canton Fair. They provide basic facilities, but just a few of them are with internet access.

Most of the hotels will not offer shuttle bus to Pazhou. If you are traveling in a group, renting a van would be a good choice. If you do not mind the inconvenient transport between the hotels and metro station, and would like to live not far from Pazhou with relatively lower budget, Shiqi and Shilou may be your choice.
