Lianhuashan (Lotus Flower Mountain) is located at the suburb of Guangzhou, 30 km south from Pazhou, about 40 minutes drive. It is 10 minutes bus from the nearest metro station Shiqi. Transports commuting between the hotels and metro are just public bus and motorcycle.
Since it is a touring spot where people would like to spend their holidays in the quiet and peaceful environment, hotels here are mainly for the tourists. Outside of the scenic area, you will be able to find the cheap hostels, below US$20 per night. Most of them would offer 10% discount if you stay for over a week or travel in a large group. They will not raise the room rates during Canton Fair, but just provide very basic facilities, even without internet access.
In the scenic area, like on the mountain, there are higher end hotels, with better facilities, and warm services, which would charge US$50---80 per night. The surrounding environment is clean and quiet, yet the only disadvantage of these hotels is the transportation, even though they provide free shuttle bus down the hill or even to Pazhou if you require.
If you don’t mind the relatively inconvenient transportation and the surroundings without nightlife, it is the place worth considering. Anyway, it is more for relaxing than doing business.
